How to Succeed in High-Stress Situations
Life is all about choices. What happens when, instead of sitting back, examining the information around us and making the most optimum choice for the situation before us we default to emotional and gut responses, where hormones and ancient biological chemistry takes over, most often with results we were not intending? In Tim Ferriss' podcast #319, "How to Succeed in High-Stress Situations," Tim explores the construct of high-stress through 4 sample chapters from Ryan Holiday's book, "The Obstacle is the Way: The Timeless Art of Turning Trials into Triumph." Exploration is the easy part, application is where it can get messy.

How Great Leaders Inspire Action
In this TED talk How Great Leaders Inspire Action, Simon Sinek, explains how the "What" which dominates most of our conversations and decision making will always fall secondary to the "Why" of a person or organization. Simon likes to use Apple as a reference in this discussion. He says "The goal is not to do business with everybody who needs what you have. The goal is to do business with people who believe what you believe." An inspiring action is a core function of leadership. Many of us are leaders and the position we are in affords us this title. Fewer of these leaders inspire action, cause people to want to follow you for who you are not the position for which you were hired. As yourself, what sort of leader are you? What sort of leader do you want to become? What sort of leader do you want your subordinates to remember?

In this January 2017 Ted Radio Hour Podcast, Guy Raz leads you through four different concepts surrounding the idea of networks.
